Regulatory Policy Executive, Committees of Advertising Practice and ASA Gender Stereotypes in Advertising Project Lead

Ella initiated and managed the ASA project on gender stereotypes in advertising which considered whether the ASA system was in the right place in its regulation.  That project resulted in a report, published in July 2017, which concluded that some regulatory change was warranted.  The Committees of Advertising Practice are now consulting on proposals for a new rule and supporting guidance.

As well as the ongoing work on gender stereotypes, Ella carries out regulatory policy work on a variety of issues including promotional marketing and alcohol to ensure the advertising rules reflect legislation and social policy.
