Leila Siddiqi

Head of Diversity, IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising)

Leila leads the IPA’s diversity strategy; at the forefront of innovation and change for the UK’s advertising industry. Working collaboratively with advertising and marketing agencies to demonstrate the value of diversity to creativity and effectiveness.

She has just launched the IPA’s first Diversity Hub, a new online portal (www.ipa.co.uk/diversity) to provide agencies with relevant, useful and practical advice on how to improve their diversity. It also aims to position the UK as a global leader in the diversity arena.

She has a senior management role in the IPA-Metro Creative Pioneers apprenticeship programme which recruits school leavers into the industry – over 25% of who come from BAME backgrounds; along with various creative industries projects relating to export and inward investment and promoting Advertising in the wider context of the creative industries.

Leila manages the Creative Industries Council (CIC) Marketing & Communications group and sits on the CIC Diversity group. She also sits on the Academic Board for Creative Pioneers London, a London based training provider for apprenticeships in the creative and digital media sector.

Prior to joining IPA in January 2012, previous roles included press and communications at the Advertising Association, Bell Pottinger Business & Brand and Fishburn Hedges.

Born in Dubai UAE, brought up in Karachi, Pakistan and now a Londoner after 5 years in Oxford, Leila has helped inspire leaders in adland to further develop a truly global outlook.
